Xiaomi Redmi 15R comes to China as renamed Redmi 15
The Redmi 15 5G has just been introduced as one of Xiaomi’s most affordable smartphones. Sales in India are scheduled for August 28th. However, it will reach at least one more market, namely China, under the name Redmi 15R.
Since the Redmi 15R is a direct rebrand, the specifications remain unchanged. You can expect a 6.9-inch LCD display with FHD+ resolution, a 144 Hz refresh rate, and slightly wider bezels. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset and runs the company’s proprietary HyperOS 2 interface. Xiaomi promises two years of operating system updates and four years of security patches.
Xiaomi has installed a large 7,000 mAh battery with 33W charging and 18W reverse charging via cable. A charger is also included in most regions. Xiaomi claims this is the only silicon-carbon battery in this segment and that it retains 80% of its lifespan even after more than four years of use.
Other features of the Redmi phones include a 50 MP rear camera, IP64 protection, and Dolby-certified audio. The prices for the Chinese Redmi 15R with 8/256 GB are CNY 1,499 (€178/$210), CNY 1,899 (€226/$265) for 12/256 GB, and CNY 2,199 (€262/$305) for 12/512 GB.
