Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold: Qi2 support, new video and surprise guests

The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold is said to offer Qi2 charging support, according to a new tip. There are also new images and a new video of Google’s next foldable device, and a hot tip about tomorrow’s launch event.
Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold supports Qi2 charging
The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold is shaping up to be a significant upgrade over its predecessor. Rumors suggest Google’s upcoming foldable device will feature a larger display, a larger battery, and greater durability. A tipster has now revealed another feature of the foldable Google smartphone.

According to well-known tipster Evan Blass, the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold will support Qi2 wireless charging. This means that the foldable device could have magnets on the back and work with the rumored magnetic Pixelsnap charger.

The tipster also confirms that the next Fold will not launch alongside the other Pixel 10 series smartphones. It will be available at a later date, specifically on October 9th. The Pixel Watch 4 and Buds 2a will also be released on the same day.
The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold is rumored to be slightly thicker and heavier than the current Pixel 9 Pro Fold. This is likely due to the larger battery and integrated magnets for Qi2 charging. The upcoming foldable device is said to have a 5,015 mAh battery, a 6.4-inch external display, and the Tensor G5 chipset.
Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold in new video
Google launched its video teaser campaign for the Pixel 10 series earlier this month and is now back with another short video. The soundtrack is the same—an instrumental version of “The Next Episode” by Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg. But the swipe at Apple is much more subtle this time.
It’s about opening your phone (and taking it out of the box) and then opening your phone—because if it’s a Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, you can open it, i.e. also unfold, unlike all previous iPhones.
The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be unveiled on August 20th alongside the Pixel 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Pro XL. All models should have the same prices as their predecessors in North America, Europe, and India.
Google Pixel 10 launch event with surprise guests
Google has already announced a star-studded launch event hosted by Jimmy Fallon. Ahead of the launch, Google released a new YouTube short film featuring Fallon, in which he announces “secret products” that will be unveiled at the “Made by Google” event.
While this could simply be a way to tease the already widely leaked product lineup, there’s still a small chance that Google has some surprises in store.

At the introductory event for the Pixel 10 series from Google, F1 driver Lando Norris, NBA legend Stephen Curry, Jonas Brothers and others will also be present. The event celebrates ten generations of Pixel devices and should therefore be accordingly large.
The search engine giant will also present a new version of the Pixel Buds Pro 2 at the event.
