The Google Pixel Watch 4 is expected to be unveiled alongside the Pixel 10 series at the company’s upcoming event on August 20. There have already been a few leaks, but the price is still a question mark.

Fortunately, a new leak today tells us exactly that. The 41mm Google Pixel Watch 4 costs €399 (with Wi-Fi only) and €499 (also with LTE). The 45mm model costs €449 with Wi-Fi and €549 with LTE.

These are exactly the same prices at which the Pixel Watch 3 was launched in the Eurozone last year. So, there have been no price increases, at least not in Europe, and if this leak is correct. The same source also states that the Google Pixel Watch 4 will go on sale on August 28th, with pre-orders starting immediately after the launch event on August 20th.

Google Pixel Watch 4 with an older chipset but a larger battery

Google has previously used Samsung chipsets in its Pixel phones. In the future, Tensor chipsets will come from TSMC, starting with the Tensor G5 in the Pixel 10 series. However, the Google Pixel Watch 4 will not have a new chipset.

According to new reports, Google will use the same chipset as in the Watch 3 and the Watch 2, the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1. The chip dates from 2022, is manufactured using 4nm technology, and has four Cortex-A53 cores. That sounds good on paper, but Qualcomm is already working on a Snapdragon W6 with a large Cortex-A78 core and four A55 cores.

Google may instead be waiting until its custom Tensor wearable chipset is ready in time for the Pixel Watch 5. The Tensor chip is said to have the same configuration of one A78 and four A55 cores as the W6. And thus, the same configuration as the Exynos W1000, which Samsung reused for the Galaxy Watch8 series.

Previous images of the Google Pixel Watch 4 indicate a thicker case – 14.3 mm, compared to 12.3 mm previously. According to current information, both sizes—the 45mm model codenamed “kenari”/FK23 and the 41mm model codenamed “meridian”/FME23—will have larger batteries, which could explain the slightly thicker case.

The Google Pixel Watch 4 (41mm) has a 327mAh battery (+20mAh compared to the Watch 3 (41mm), while the 45mm model has a 459mAh battery (+39mAh). This represents an increase of 7% and 9%, respectively. That’s not much considering that the W5 Gen 1 chip isn’t among the most efficient. Charging speeds will also be improved. increased, but specific figures have not yet been leaked.

The Pixel Watch 4 is not only available in 41 mm and 45 mm sizes, but also with Bluetooth and 4G. It will be available in various colors and with various straps – from two-tone leather to Active Sport to metal mesh straps. The new Pixel Watches are expected to be unveiled alongside the Pixel 10 series.
