Honor Pad GT2 Pro with SD 8 Gen 3 and 165 Hz display is here

The Honor Pad GT2 Pro features eight IMAX Enhanced speakers, a large 10,100 mAh battery, and is already available for pre-order.

Last year, Honor introduced the Pad GT Pro, a gaming tablet with a 12.3-inch 144 Hz OLED display, a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, and a 10,050 mAh battery. Now the company has introduced its successor, which will be available later this month: the Honor Pad GT2 Pro.

The Honor Pad GT2 Pro increases the refresh rate to a very fast 165 Hz. According to Honor, this feature is fully usable and, for example, displays CrossFire: Gunfight King at the full 165 fps. The screen resolution is listed as “3K,” but the exact pixel values are unknown. Presumably, the resolution is the same as the previous model— 3,000 x 1,920 pixels.

The new model offers significantly more performance thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset: The 8 Gen 3 was Qualcomm’s absolute top model at the time of its release. The 8s Gen 3, on the other hand, was intended for significantly cheaper flagship killers. The difference in the benchmark results is therefore clear.

In addition, PAD GT2 Pro 8, 12 or 16 GB RAM and 128, 256 or 512 GB of memory. The tablet also offers improved cooling with graphs. The battery capacity is now 10,100 mAh, but there is still no information about the loading speed (the predecessor model was 66 watts).

The new model is 5.8 mm thick and weighs 580 g, which makes it a little heavier than its predecessor (555 g). Honor has taken over the eight IMAX Enhanced speakers and the haptic feedback.

Honor Pad GT2 Pro prices

The Honor Pad GT2 Pro will be released on July 28th (Monday in two weeks) in China. Pre-ordering is already possible in Honor’s online shop, whereby you have the choice between the color options ice crystal white and phantom gray. The prices range between 2,500 CNY (300 €/349 $) and 3,400 CNY (409 €/$ 474). Incidentally, there are also some early bird offers.
