OnePlus Nord CE5: New image shows iPhone 16 camera island

The OnePlus Nord CE5 has been circulating in the rumor mill for a few days now, with its battery capacity first revealed, followed by a full specs leak yesterday. The next step, of course, is the first image, and that’s exactly what leaked today. As you can see, we only see the back. The inspiration for the design is hard to miss – the camera module looks extremely similar to the Apple iPhone 16.

In addition, this camera island is somewhat reminiscent of the one on the OnePlus 13T, which is also about to launch, where the two cameras are arranged in a rounded square. This all suggests that OnePlus won’t be adopting a consistent design language for its smartphones in 2025 – at least if the current leaks are to be believed.
The OnePlus Nord CE5 is scheduled to launch in India in May. It has a slim bezel, a flat back, and, according to previous rumors, a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood is the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset, powered by a large 7,100 mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging.
On the back, there’s a 50 MP main camera with the Sony Lytia LYT-600 sensor and an 8 MP ultrawide-angle camera with the IMX355 sensor, also from Sony. A 16 MP front camera takes care of selfies. The OnePlus phone will reportedly feature 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, a hybrid SIM slot, and a single speaker. The familiar alert slider is said to be replaced by a new smart button.
