Public betas of iOS 18.5, iPadOS 18.5 and macOS Sequoia 15.5 are here
Apple today released the first public betas of the upcoming iOS 18.5, iPadOS 18.5, and macOS Sequoia 15.5 updates, allowing the public to test the updates before their official launch. The public betas come one day after Apple made the second betas available to developers.
Public beta testers can download the updates through the Settings app on any device after signing up for the beta through Apple’s public beta testing website.
iOS 18.5 and macOS Sequoia 15.5 are relatively small updates, and few new features have been discovered so far. The iOS Mail app has options to hide contact photos and group by sender, making the design more similar to the iOS 17 Mail app. There are also some minor changes to how AppleCare information is displayed.
The software is likely to focus on bug fixes and security improvements that aren’t externally focused. We expect Apple to release the final versions of iOS 18.5, iPadOS 18.5, macOS Sequoia 15.5, and the other software updates sometime in May. Apple has also released public betas of watchOS 11.5 and tvOS 18.5.
