OnePlus recently released the second Android 16 beta update for the OnePlus 13. As usual, there was a community post in which OnePlus listed the known issues with this update. However, they didn’t mention an interesting feature for the brand’s current flagship.

As discovered by an unofficial OnePlus System Apps channel on Telegram, Android 16 Beta 2 for the OnePlus 13 offers a customizable battery charge limit. Users can now set the charge limit between 80% and 100%, instead of being limited to the fixed 80% limit.

However, you can’t simply select any number between 80 and 100. You have five options: 80%, 85%, 90%, 95%, and 100%. The 100% option seems to make little sense, as users who want to fully charge their smartphone’s battery wouldn’t set a charge limit anyway. Therefore, this option could be removed with a future update.

If you install Android 16 Beta 2 on your OnePlus 13, you can activate the “Charge Limit” switch in the “Settings > Battery > Battery Health” menu to select the desired charging limit for your smartphone.

OnePlus 13: Android 16 Beta to be used with caution

Google released the first beta of Android 16 early in January. The final version of the operating system will be released at the end of June, unlike previous versions, which all launched in August, September, or October.

The second beta of Android 16 for the OnePlus 13 is aimed exclusively at advanced users and developers. Therefore, it is not recommended if you have little or no experience in software development and are not familiar with flashing custom ROMs. Flashing it on your primary device is also not recommended, as it may cause problems.

There are numerous known issues that indicate this is an early development version. There is also a risk that your smartphone will become unusable. If you still wish to proceed, please carefully read the instructions in the source linked below.

This version of the software is not compatible with T-Mobile or Verizon devices. You will also need at least 4 GB of storage space and 30% battery. Installation instructions can be found in the source below.
