vivo X200 Ultra: Colors, chipset and launch date confirmed
Today, a vivo executive posted images of the vivo X200 Ultra on Weibo, showing the camera phone in different colors. The Ultra will be available in three colors: silver, red, and black. While we don’t know their marketing names, you can see that all three models have different back designs. The executive who shared the images also confirmed that the smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, unlike the X200 and X200 Pro, which are powered by the Dimensity 9400 chip.
The employee also called the vivo X200 Ultra a compact camera that can be used for making phone calls. It will feature three main cameras with ZEISS optics and OIS. In terms of camera hardware, we expect a 14mm ultra-wide-angle 50MP sensor (LYT-818), a 35mm lens on the 50MP main camera (LYT-818), and a custom 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP9 sensor for the 85mm periscope.
The vivo X200 Ultra also supports 4K video recording at 60 frames per second with 10-bit log, as well as slow-motion recording at 4K resolution and 120 frames per second. The smartphone features a 2K display with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner on the bottom, which vivo claims will allow unlocking the smartphone even with wet hands.
The vivo X200 Ultra is powered by a battery with wireless fast charging. Charging speeds are not yet known, but, typical of vivo, should be quite competitive.
vivo X200 Ultra and X200s launch on April 21
The vivo X200 Ultra and vivo X200s will be released in China on April 21. The launch date was confirmed by vivo on its official Weibo profile. The two smartphones will be joined by the vivo Pad5 Pro, the vivo Pad SE, and the vivo Watch 5. The teasers above also show the X200 Ultra in the upcoming Rimowa edition, whose silver look is inspired by the luxury luggage manufacturer.
