Samsung had actually announced that the new user interface One UI 7 beta was already being rolled out for the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6. In addition to Korea and India, devices in the UK and the US should also slowly but surely display the new firmware. The first owners of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 in Korea have now also reported a notification about a software update on their phones.

However, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 did not display One UI 7, but only version 6.1 with a new security patch. Accordingly, the updates with the version numbers F956NKSS2AYBD and F741NKSS2AYBD are only around 440 MB in size. In addition to the most recent security patch from March, the new firmware also closes 58 security gaps, which is pleasing, but not what users were expecting.

Nevertheless, you should of course install the new firmware as soon as a corresponding notification appears. If you don’t see anything yet, you can always check it manually under Settings > Software update. Unlike the operating system update in Korea, India, the UK and the US, the security update should be available worldwide. However, it may take a few days for it to reach all Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 worldwide.

The One UI 7 beta should still start rolling out today. Again, it may take a few days for all eligible Samsung smartphones in the first wave of countries to display the update.
