vivo Y29 4G introduced with large 6,500 mAh battery

The vivo Y29 was announced exactly on Christmas Eve 2024 with a 5G chipset and a 5,500mAh battery. Now the LTE-only version with an even bigger battery is here and already available in Bangladesh. The vivo Y29 4G retains the 6.68-inch LCD display with a resolution of 720p and a refresh rate of 120Hz. On the top is a Schott protective glass, whose drop resistance has increased by 64% compared to the last generation.

It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 4G chipset, since there are no 5G networks in Bangladesh yet anyway. In addition, the vivo Y29 4G is available in three storage combinations: 6/128GB, 8/128GB and 8/256GB. On the back, there is a large camera island that houses a 50 MP main camera, a 2 MP auxiliary camera for bokeh effects, a dynamic color light, an LED flash, and an IR emitter. The selfie camera sits in a punch hole and has a resolution of 8 MP.

The vivo Y29 4G is also heavily advertised in terms of durability. It has advanced shock protection and even the military standard MIL-STD-810H for drop resistance. It is also IP64 certified for water and dust resistance, and vivo states that it ensures a smooth experience for up to 50 months. The latter is presumably to indicate the length of software support, which would come to four years.
The vivo Y29 4G ships with Android 15 and Funtouch OS 15 and has some AI features for photo editing and a better WiFi signal. It also has Circle to Search, a feature that was reserved for premium devices just a few months ago. The battery has a powerful 6,500mAh capacity and supports 44W wired charging. However, the vivo Y29 4G lacks features like NFC, an FM radio, a 3.5mm headphone jack or wireless charging.
