Oppo Find N5: Unboxing video and new certification
The Oppo Find N5 is currently in the news every day as the official announcement date of February 20 is imminent. Just yesterday, Oppo shared two official teasers with the news that the foldable would be just 8.93mm thick when folded, making it the world’s thinnest foldable device, at least when folded. Now the company has posted its own official unboxing video of the N5.
The Oppo Find N5 unboxing video reveals the next important point – weight. At 229g, it’s only 2g heavier than the non-foldable Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max. Compared to the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, it’s actually 3g lighter. The retail box also includes a protective case (at least in China) and the phone will be available in three color variants.
Oppo Find N5 is certified by TENAA
The Oppo Find N5 has also just been certified by the Chinese TENAA authority. The listing includes details on both displays, the three main cameras on the back and the storage variants. According to this, the phone with the model number PKH120 will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset in a special 7-core CPU (instead of 8). The foldable panel has a large diagonal of 8.12 inches, while the cover display measures 6.62 inches. Both displays are thus larger than the previous Find N3 / OnePlus Open model.
On the back there are two 50 MP camera sensors and an 8 MP camera chip, which on paper sounds like a downgrade compared to the 48/48/64 MP setup of the predecessor. The two selfie cameras each have a resolution of 8 MP, also significantly less than the previous 32 MP and 20 MP.
The RAM will be either 12GB or 16GB, while storage options include 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. The actual combinations will be announced at the launch event next week, along with the price. Additionally, the Oppo Find N5 will be IPX6, IPX8 and IPX9 waterproof.
