Realme GT 7 Pro Racing Edition with bypass charging announced
Realme launched the GT 7 Pro last November, and as promised, a special edition model is now being added. Like the regular model, the Realme GT 7 Pro Racing Edition is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. However, there are differences in the camera, display, storage and battery.
While the regular GT 7 Pro has a triple camera setup on the back, consisting of a 50 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultrawide and a 50 MP telephoto camera, the Realme GT 7 Pro Racing Edition has a dual camera setup. The telephoto camera is omitted and the main camera switches to a Sony IMX896 sensor instead of the IMX906. The 16 MP selfie camera remains the same.
The GT 7 Pro also has a Samsung Eco2 OLED Plus display with 120% DCI-P3 coverage and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The Realme GT 7 Pro Racing Edition switches to a panel with 100% DCI-P3 coverage and an optical fingerprint sensor. However, the UFS 4.1 storage is a bit faster (instead of UFS 4.0) and the battery supports bypass charging. Bypass charging is the power supply of the smartphone via cable without charging the battery and can significantly increase the lifespan of the cell.
The Realme GT 7 Pro Racing Edition is available in gray and blue. Four configurations are offered via Realme’s official website in its home country of China: 12/256 GB, 16/256 GB, 12/512 GB and 16/512 GB at prices of 3,099 CNY (405 €/425 $/36,820 INR), 3,399 CNY (445 €/465 $/40,385 INR), 3,699 CNY (485 €/505 $/43,950 INR) and 3,999 CNY (525 €/550 $/47,510 INR).
