OnePlus Open 2 / Oppo Find N5: Big update, only 3.5-4 mm thick

Oppo has posted an exciting new teaser for its upcoming foldable Find N5, which will later hit global markets as the OnePlus Open 2. The device will be the long-awaited successor to the 2023 Oppo Find N3 and is scheduled to launch in February. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau shared a teaser image that hints at the phone’s main feature – its ultra-thin profile. According to the Weibo post, the Oppo Find N5 will set a new record as the thinnest foldable flagship on the market.

The Honor Magic V3 currently holds the record for the thinnest foldable at 4.35mm, which means the Oppo Find N5 will have to shave a few tenths of a millimeter to take the crown. Rumors suggest that the gap won’t be that small at 3.5-4mm.
Zhou Yibao, product manager of the Oppo Find series, also shared that the Find N5 will feature a titanium alloy hinge. The device could be launched as the OnePlus Open 2 for global markets. According to the latest leaks, the Oppo Find N5 will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, three 50MP main cameras, and a 5,900mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
OnePlus Open 2 to get major upgrade
Two prominent Chinese tipsters have also commented on the OnePlus Open 2 on Weibo. According to the rumors, the foldable device will feature a new, more durable design thanks to a titanium body.

But there will be more than just design improvements. The report claims that the device will have an improved camera system with three cameras, again developed in collaboration with the optics specialists at Hasselblad. This leak also includes the Snapdragon 8 Elite, as well as an even larger 6,000mAh battery, which will also support wireless charging.
In addition, the OnePlus Open 2 / Oppo Find N5 is said to support satellite communications. Again, a February launch date is mentioned for the Chinese market, while the global release of the Open 2 is planned between March and June. That would be right before the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
