Xiaomi Mix Flip 2: Thinner and lighter but much larger battery

Xiaomi is planning to launch its successor early due to the excellent sales of its first foldable, the Xiaomi Mix Flip. The Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is set to be a major upgrade, not just a small incremental update. Today, some details have finally been revealed.
According to a new rumor from a tipster on X, the Mix Flip 2 will have a 5,600 to 5,700 mAh battery. This is a significant improvement over the 4,780 mAh cell of the original Mix Flip. And this despite the fact that the Xiaomi smartphone already has one of the largest batteries of all flip foldables at 4,780 mAh. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6, for example, only has a capacity of 4,000 mAh.

The Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is also said to be both thinner and lighter than its predecessor. That would mean that it would be smaller than the Mix Flip’s 7.6 mm when unfolded and 16 mm when folded, and would also weigh less than 190 g.
Just like the original, the Mix Flip 2 will be sold worldwide and not just in China. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for new leaks. Perhaps the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 will finally follow its little brother onto the global markets in 2025.
