OnePlus Open 2 / Oppo Find N5 gets certified before launch
The Oppo Find N5 is expected to launch soon, with a launch expected in China this spring. It will then be rebranded as the OnePlus Open 2 for international markets. The phone has now been spotted in several certifications, which also hints at its imminent debut. These include the SIRIM in Malaysia and the SDPPI in Indonesia.
Additionally, the Oppo Find N5 / OnePlus Open 2 paid a visit to the Camera FV 5 database with the model number CPH2671. However, this could also be the OnePlus Open 2, as both models are likely to be identical in terms of hardware. The Camera FV 5 database lists the main camera as 12.6 MP. In fact, the resolution is expected to be 50MP – (12.6MP is the effective resolution after 4-in-1 pixel binning.
The front camera is said to be 7.1MP, which would come out to 28.4MP before pixel binning. That would be a pretty odd resolution for camera sensors, suggesting that there is some cropping going on here too and we are likely looking at a 32MP selfie camera. The main camera on the back is said to have an f/1.9 aperture, while the front camera shoots through an f/2.4 aperture.
The Oppo Find N5 and OnePlus Open 2 should be based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and feature three 50MP cameras on the back. This also includes a periscope telephoto camera. The large 5,900mAh battery supports 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Also there will be an IPX8 rating, which guarantees protection against submersion in 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.
