Xiaomi updates Redmi Book 14 and Book 16 with an Intel Core 5
Xiaomi today unveiled the Redmi Book 14 (2025) and Redmi Book 16 (2025) in China alongside the Redmi Turbo 4. The laptops are identical to the 2024 versions, but now have Intel Core 5 220H CPUs under the hood. This increases battery life by 15.6%, which Xiaomi says is due to the Intel Core 5’s AI capabilities. The battery capacity, on the other hand, is unchanged.
The Redmi Book 14 has a 16:10 screen with a resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 pixels. The panel supports a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a brightness of 400 nits, and covers 100% of the sRGB color space. The Book 16 has the same features, with a slightly different aspect and a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels. Both models come with up to 32GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD storage, and both run Windows 11. There is a dual-fan cooling solution.
The Redmi Book 14’s battery is 56Wh, while the Book 16’s is 72Wh. Both support 100W fast charging with a GaN adapter. The devices feature a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port for data and charging, an HDMI 2.1 for external displays, 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, 1x USB-A 2.0, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The new Redmi notebooks offer Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and Bluetooth 5.2. They also support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The front-facing camera in the bezel has a resolution of 1080p, making it ideal for video calls.
Redmi Book 14 and Book 16 prices
The Redmi Book 14 and Redmi Book 16 can already be purchased from the Xiaomi store and from selected third-party retailers in China. Prices start at CNY 4,599 (€611/$630) for the 16/512 GB model and climb above CNY 4,899 (€651/$670) with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage to CNY 5,199 (€691/$715) for the top 32 GB and 1 TB models. You’ll pay CNY 200 more for the Book 16, respectively.
We doubt Xiaomi plans to launch them internationally. The last time we saw a Redmi Book on the global market was in early 2023. Then again, there are few non-Xiaomi/Redmi notebooks, so the devices would be a welcome addition.
