Xiaomi is currently gearing up to launch the Redmi Turbo 4 smartphone. The new device has been confirmed to feature a massive 6,550mAh battery – the largest cell Xiaomi has ever put in a smartphone. The phone will also feature IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance and two LED ring lights around the camera lenses on the back.

The 6,550mAh cell isn’t new per se – it’s a Si/Ca dual cell solution that’s also used in the Redmi K80, which launched five weeks ago. Nevertheless, it’s still a huge technological leap forward in battery capacity, and the brand promised all early adopters a five-year or 1,600 full charge cycles warranty on the cell. Charging speed is a fast 90W.

A Chinese influencer has already unboxed the Redmi Turbo 4 on Chinese TikTok Douyin. In addition to the stylish design, you can also see the two ring lights and the 2.5D display.

Redmi Turbo 4 launch date

In addition, Xiaomi has just confirmed the launch date for the Redmi Turbo 4 in China. The device is scheduled to be launched on Thursday, January 2nd. This makes the Redmi the first smartphone from Xiaomi to be launched in 2025. The teasers also contain confirmation that the Turbo 4 can already be pre-ordered through Xiaomi’s channels and will go on sale on the day of the launch.

The official Redmi Weibo profile published images of the Turbo 4 in Lucky Cloud White. Here, too, you can see the flat sides and the slight curvature as well as a red accent line on the back. We also get confirmation that the main camera on the back will have a 50 megapixel sensor. There will probably also be an 8 megapixel ultra-wide angle camera.

The Redmi Turbo 4 will be the first phone to launch with MediaTek’s new Dimensity 8400 chipset and its all-big-core CPU configuration. According to the leaked specifications, the device will also feature a 6.67-inch LTPS OLED display with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz. The RAM will be a generous 12GB.

Xiaomi is expected to launch the Redmi Turbo 4 on the international stage as the Poco X7 Pro at a grand event in India on January 9.
