Apple iPhone SE (2025) will be more expensive
The Apple iPhone SE (2025) will finally launch next year, and we’ve been hearing a lot about it lately. Including the fact that it will be the first iPhone to use a modem developed by Apple itself. A new rumor from Korea is now addressing the prices of Apple’s entry-level model. According to it, the new iPhone SE is said to start at $499 (€481), which would be $300 less than the cheapest iPhone 16.
On the one hand, that’s not really cheap, nor is it a small amount of money. On the other hand, the previous iPhone SE, which was launched in 2022, cost $429 at launch. So the whole thing would actually be a hefty price increase of $70. So everything depends on the question of what upgrades the Apple iPhone SE (2025) will bring. And apparently it doesn’t look bad in that regard.
The new Apple iPhone SE (2025) is said to be based on the A18 chipset, which Apple pairs with 8 GB of RAM, which also gives Apple Intelligence functions enough computing power. There is also a 6.06-inch OLED display with 60 Hz, a 48 MP main camera, a 12 MP selfie camera and an updated design that is reminiscent of the iPhone 14, including the notch with the Face ID sensors. The latter is urgently needed, considering the huge bezels above and below the 4.7-inch display of the current model.
The Apple iPhone SE (2025) therefore seems to take the chipset, RAM size and main camera from the iPhone 16 and forego the ultra-wide-angle camera. Considering the price difference, the more frame-heavy design and the lack of the ultra-wide angle should be a pretty good deal.
