vivo launched the Y28 in January with the Dimensity 6020 chipset. Today, the Chinese introduced the successor with a Dimensity 6300 chip – the vivo Y29 is here. It runs Android 14 and Funtouch OS 14 out of the box and has up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of built-in storage, which can be expanded by up to 1 TB.

The vivo Y29 is based on a 6.68-inch 120 Hz HD + LCD display with a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and a pixel density of 264 ppi. The screen also has a central cutout for the 8 MP selfie camera. On the back there is a 50 megapixel main camera, followed by a 0.08 megapixel unit and a flash. There is also a ring light that flashes in different colors for notifications and during music playback.

The vivo Y29 is powered by a 5,500mAh battery with 44W charging support. Other highlights of the phone include an IP64 rating, MIL-STD-810H certification, dual speakers, 5G connectivity, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The vivo Y29 comes in Glacier Blue, Titanium Gold, and Diamond Black colors and is already available for purchase in India via vivo’s local website. There are four storage options – 4/128GB, 6/128GB, 8/128GB, and 8/256GB – priced at INR 13,999 ($165/€160), INR 15,499 ($180/€175), INR 16,999 ($200/€190), and INR 18,999 ($225/€215).
