OnePlus Open 2 could come later, OnePlus 13R certified
A few days ago, there was a rumor going around in China that the Oppo Find N5 would be launched there before the end of March. This device will most likely be sold internationally under the name OnePlus Open 2. This is because the original OnePlus Open from last year was a renamed Oppo Find N3 (Oppo regularly skips the “4” due to tetraphobia).
Back then, we noted that it was unclear how soon after the release of the Oppo Find N5 the OnePlus Open 2 would follow. Today, a tipster on X sheds some light on the matter, but unfortunately not good news. According to him, the OnePlus Open 2 will not launch until the second half of 2025, so in July at the earliest.
OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro appear in approval lists
The OnePlus Ace 5 (PKG110) and Ace 5 Pro (PKR110), on the other hand, appear to be right on schedule. Shortly before their launch later this month, the OnePlus smartphones appeared in the database of the Chinese TENAA certification body. The listings confirm some core specifications for both models.
The OnePlus Ace 5 listing confirms a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,264 x 2,780 pixels. The phone will also have a 16 MP selfie camera and an integrated fingerprint scanner under the display. On the back, there is a triple camera setup with a 50 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide angle and a 2 MP sensor.
According to the latest leak, the Ace 5 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, while the Ace 5 Pro gets the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. The Ace 5 also gets 12 or 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB of storage. The battery capacity is a strong 6,285 mAh. This is good news for us too, as the device is set to hit global markets in January as the OnePlus 13R.
