Motorola Moto G15, G15 Power and G05 with large batteries are here
Motorola today unveiled three new additions to its Moto G series. The Motorola Moto G15, Moto G15 Power, and Moto G05 are entry-level phones whose main selling point is big batteries. They are also the first Moto G devices to come with Android 15 out of the box.
Motorola Moto G15 and Moto G15 Power
The two Motorola Moto G15 phones share most of the hardware except for the battery. The Power variant has a 6,000mAh battery, while the G15 has a 5,200mAh capacity. This makes the G15 Power a bit thicker (8.8mm vs. 8.2mm) and heavier (203g vs. 190g), but other than these changes, everything else is the same on both.
Both Motorola Moto G15s feature a 6.72-inch LCD display with Full HD+ resolution and a punch-hole for the 8MP selfie camera. There are two cameras on the back – a 50MP main camera and a 5MP ultra-wide-angle camera.
The Motorola Moto G15 and G15 Power both feature the Helio G81 chipset, an LTE platform with a 2GHz octa-core CPU and 4GB of RAM. Storage options are 128, 256 and 512GB, plus there’s a microSD slot for storage expansion. Both Motorola smartphones also come with a 3.5mm audio jack, FM radio, NFC and support dual SIM cards. There are three color options: Gravity Gray, Iguana Green and Sunrise Orange. All three have a vegan leather back.
Motorola Moto G05
The Motorola Moto G05 has the same Helio G81 chipset and footprint as the Moto G15. It’s also 8.2mm thick, but a gram lighter at 189g. Its LCD display is a bit smaller at 6.67 inches and has a lower HD+ resolution. There’s still a punch hole for the 8MP selfie camera.
The Motorola Moto G05 also has two cameras on the back, and Motorola has brought a more streamlined camera island design. The main camera has another 50MP sensor, but instead of an ultra-wide angle, the second camera is an unspecified sensor of unknown function.
The G05 has 4GB of RAM and 64 or 128GB of storage. Like the G15 Duo, it supports dual SIM and micro SD cards. It’s IP54-rated and has NFC (in some regions only), a 3.5mm audio jack, and Bluetooth 5.4. The color options are either Forest Green or Plum Red.
Motorola hasn’t revealed any details on pricing or launch dates yet, but it has confirmed that the phones will launch in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia Pacific.
