Apple releases tvOS 18.2 with projector support

Apple today released tvOS 18.2, the latest version of the tvOS 18 operating system that was released in September. The new 18.2 version comes more than a month after Apple released tvOS 18.1 and is available for the Apple TV 4K and all Apple TV HD models.

tvOS 18.2 can be downloaded via the Settings app on the Apple TV. Open Settings and go to System > Software Update to download and install the new software. Apple TV owners who have automatic software updates enabled don’t need to worry about anything else.
tvOS 18.2 adds a selection of new Snoopy screensavers available as alternatives to the Aerial, Storage and Portrait screensavers, and also adds support for natural language searches via Siri for movies, music and TV shows.
The update also includes an option that lets Apple TV automatically detect the best aspect ratio for a TV or projector. It also now supports new aspect ratios for projectors. Options include 16:9, 21:9, 2.37:1, 2.39:1, 2.40:1, DCI 4K, and 32:9.
Apple has published the full release notes for tvOS in its tvOS support document, which is updated after each new version of tvOS. Apple also released iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2, macOS Sequoia 15.2 and watchOS 11.2 today.
