Xiaomi 15 Ultra: Launch this year?
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra has just been certified in China by the local 3C authority, suggesting an imminent launch. This is interesting timing, as the Xiaomi 14 Ultra only appeared at 3C in early February this year before being unveiled in late February. With that in mind, it seems quite plausible that the 15 Ultra will become official in the next few weeks, at least for the Chinese market.
The certification reveals that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra supports 90W wired charging and satellite connectivity. However, this is the Chinese model and therefore also the Chinese Beidou satellite network. Whether the feature will also make its way to international markets remains to be seen.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be the Chinese company’s flagship for 2025, and the image above shows the alleged design. Rumors suggest the battery capacity will be between 5,450 and 5,800 mAh. That would be less than the 6,000 mAh of some of the other top newcomers in recent weeks, such as the OnePlus 13, the Redmi K80 Pro or the Oppo Find X8 Pro. The 15 Ultra will probably beat all of these competitors in terms of camera setup, and this hardware just needs space.
In detail, this is a 1-inch main camera with an f/1.63 aperture, but this may no longer be variable. There is also a 50 MP camera with a short zoom (most likely 2x), a 200 MP 4.3x periscope zoom and of course an ultra-wide-angle camera. According to rumors, the display of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is almost identical to the 6.73-inch panel of the 14 Ultra and will adopt both the 120 Hz refresh rate and the 1,440 x 3,200 pixel resolution.
