Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4 and Sapphire Gold Watch Ultimate are here

Huawei had a big launch event yesterday where we saw the Mate 70 and 70 Pro, as well as the Mate 70 Pro+ and 70 RS and the foldable Mate X6 and the new MatePad Pro 13.2. Those weren’t the only new devices on stage though. The brand new Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4 – Huawei’s flagship TWS earbuds – and a new Sapphire Gold Edition of the Huawei Watch Ultimate Design are also here.

The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4 are the brand’s first TWS earbuds to launch with the new HarmonyOS Next operating system. When paired with a Huawei smartphone running HarmonyOS 4.3 or later, the FreeBuds Pro 4 can deliver 2.3Mbps lossless audio transmission and 48kHz/24-bit audio.
The FreeBuds Pro 4 support L2HC 4.0, HWA Lossless, and Hi-Res Wireless certifications. Huawei has partnered with the Central Conservatory of Music to fine-tune the sound from the two 11mm acoustic speakers inside. Huawei also claims up to 100dB noise reduction, which is much higher than most TWS earphones with ANC.
The three-level memory ear tips play a key role in properly sealing your ear canal. The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4 also offer top-notch noise cancellation during calls and support for spatial audio. This is thanks to Huawei’s in-house Kirin A2 chip, which also supports multi-device pairing via Bluetooth 5.2.
Huawei has also added head tracking, with the earphones able to sense head movements, allowing you to answer a call by nodding or reject it by shaking your head. The earphones are IP54 certified. Huawei says you can listen to music for up to 7 hours on a single charge, and up to 33 hours with the charging case.
The FreeBuds Pro 4 comes in Obsidian Black, Snow White, and Spruce Green, and is priced at CNY 1,499 (€196/$208). The new Sapphire Gold Watch Ultimate costs a staggering CNY 23,999 (€3,137/$3,320).
