The nubia Z70 Ultra is the latest addition to the nubia family and offers top-notch specs with the familiar design. The successor to last year’s Z60 Ultra and brings with it some major improvements including the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a brighter display and updated cameras.

The nubia Z70 Ultra’s display has grown to 6.85 inches and features a faster 144Hz refresh rate and 2,000 nits peak brightness. There’s a slight bump in resolution to 1,216 x 2,688 pixels and thinner bezels. These now measure just 1.25mm, making them the thinnest bezels of any smartphone.

The BOE-made AMOLED display also features an optical fingerprint scanner and a 16MP selfie camera, each under the seventh-generation display. The under-display selfie cam has an improved algorithm for clearer selfies and the display area directly above the sensor has an updated resolution of 430 ppi.

nubia Z70 Ultra: variable aperture from f/1.59 to f/4.0

The main cameras on the back are dominated by the 50 MP wide-angle camera with 35 mm and an IMX906 sensor. There is also a lens with a variable aperture that covers steps from f/1.59 to f/4.0. There is also a 70 mm 64 MP periscope telephoto with an OV64B sensor and 2.7x optical zoom and a 13 mm 50 MP ultra-wide angle (OV50D) with autofocus. The nubia Z70 Ultra also has a new, two-stage shutter button. Half press focuses, full press takes a picture.

The nubia Z70 Ultra launches Nebula AIOS based on Android 15, which brings a host of AI features. The smartphone also features IP69 protection, two-way satellite communication, and a 6,150mAh silicon carbon battery with 80W fast charging.

The nubia Z70 Ultra is available in black, amber, and a limited edition Starry Night Blue color inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s The Starry Night. The base 12/256GB version starts at CNY 4,599 (€603/$635), while the top-of-the-line 24GB RAM and 1TB version retails for CNY 6,299 (€826/$870) in China.

The Z70 Ultra is already available for pre-order from ZTE Mall and JD.com, with shipping starting on November 25. The global launch is planned for November 26th.
