Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition: Video shows significantly smaller fold
Samsung has just brought its new premium foldable called the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition to China, where the smartphone is called the Samsung W25. The first reviewers and tipsters have already pounced on it. And one of the most famous of them, Ice Universe, has shared a live video of the foldable main display and its fold.
The fold is of course a big issue with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. How visible is it in use when the display is on, and how flat does the Samsung phone close when you don’t need the main display? In fact, you apparently have to turn the device off and really strain to see the grooves of the panel. You can watch the whole thing in the video above on Platform X.
In a second video, Ice Universe also compared the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition / the Samsung W25 with the Oppo Find N3. You can see how the display with its flexion hinge creates slight waves. The whole thing is a joint development by Oppo and OnePlus and is therefore also used in the OnePlus Open.
Unfortunately, it is highly unlikely that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will ever make it to markets other than South Korea and China. So all hopes are currently pinned on the two Galaxy Z Fold7 models, which will be available worldwide next year.
