Apple iPhone 17 Slim/Air: New design and A19 chip
Analyst Jeff Pu of Haitong International Security regularly and fairly accurately reports on topics related to Apple products. Now he has released a new research note on the Apple iPhone 17 series, which will be launched next year, most likely in September.
According to Pu, there will also be a new member in the series, namely the Apple iPhone 17 Slim or iPhone 17 Air – the actual name is not yet known. But Air would of course fit better with the naming scheme of the Apple iPads. According to the leak, this new model will definitely have the A19 chipset under the hood and not the A19 Pro like the Pro models. There is also 8 GB of RAM, which is no surprise since Apple Intelligence does not work with less RAM.
The Apple iPhone 17 Slim/Air also has a single 48 MP camera on the back and a 24 MP selfie camera on the front. In addition, Face ID is on board and there will be an aluminum frame around the 6.6-inch display. This is all also not surprising. But according to Pu, this model will have a completely new design and will replace the iPhone 16 Plus.
He also talked about the Apple iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max – both will have the same display sizes as their predecessors. There will also be A19 Pro chipsets, 12 GB of RAM, a 48 MP telephoto camera and also a 24 MP selfie camera. The Pro Max will also have a much narrower Dynamic Island as a result of a new Face ID system that Apple is currently developing.
