Honor X60 and X60 Pro with 108 MP cameras introduced
Honor has introduced two new models in the X60 series that are more different than their X50 counterparts. There’s a Pro model with a fancier display and more processing power, which also affects the camera features. The Honor X60 Pro has 10-bit colors and can reach a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, plus 3,840 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming is on board. The display works even with wet fingers and the phone itself is waterproof, but doesn’t have an official IP rating.

The Honor X60 Pro relies on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, which is a significant downgrade from the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 in the X50 Pro. In fact, it’s the same chip as in the regular X50. At least it supports 4K video from the 108 MP main camera, which the two Honor phones share, as well as a 2 MP depth sensor. These are 1/1.67 inch sensors with 9-to-1 binning (1.92 µm effective pixel size) and three times in-sensor zoom. There is no optical stabilization, but the lens is quite fast with an aperture of f/1.75.
The Pro model has a pill-shaped punch hole for the 8 MP selfie camera and additional hardware. In addition, the Honor X60 Pro has an under-display fingerprint reader, while the base model is unlocked from the side due to its LCD panel.
The regular X60 also has a resolution of just 1,080 x 2,412 pixels (20.1:9) on its 6.8-inch display and a lower brightness of 850 nits (with DC dimming). However, it still runs at 120 Hz. The X60 selfie camera also has an 8 MP sensor, but there is no additional hardware. The main camera setup is the same as the Pro, except that the 4K video mode is missing.
This is due to the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra chipset with two Cortex-A78 cores at 2.5 GHz and six A55 at 2.0 GHz, as well as a BXM-8-256 GPU. Both new X60 models also come with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128, 256 or 512 GB of storage. The operating system is Honor’s MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14.
Honor X60 batteries: 6,600 mAh on the Pro, 5,800 mAh on the X60
Another key difference between the Honor X60 and the X60 Pro is the battery. The base model has a large 5,800 mAh battery with a relatively slow 35 watt charge. The X60 Pro has a huge 6,600 mAh battery and a faster 66 watt charge. This means that the video playback time is significantly different – 25 hours versus 19 hours. But when gaming, the runtime is only 1 hour apart – 10 hours versus 9 hours.
The Pro model also has stereo speakers with Honor Histen 7.1 technology, the volume of which you can increase up to 300% for some reason. Connectivity is the same with one exception. Both are dual-SIM 5G phones with Wi-Fi 5 (ac). The base model has a newer version of Bluetooth (5.3 vs. 5.1 on the Pro), but both support the same audio codecs: AAC, LDAC, and aptX HD.
The exception is that the Honor X60 Pro has two-way satellite SMS via the Beidou constellation.
Honor X60 pricing
You can buy the Honor X60 now from the company’s Chinese online store. The base 8/128GB model costs CNY1,200 (€155/$170/₹14,200). 8/256GB is CNY1,400, 12/256GB is CNY1,600, and 12/512GB is CNY1,800. There are also three color variants: black, green and silver.
The Honor X60 Pro costs 1,500 CNY (195 €/210 $/17,700 ₹) in China with 8/128 GB. For 8/256 GB you pay 1,700 CNY, for 12/256 GB 2,000 CNY and for 12/512 GB 2,300 CNY. Orange is also available in the color options. Incidentally, the different colors also have different textures.
