Honor X5b and X5b Plus with 6.5″ and Helio G36 introduced
Honor has quietly and secretly launched its two new entry-level phones – the Honor X5b and X5b Plus are here. The smartphones are available in several markets in the Middle East; as the name suggests, they are closely related. Honor has made the Plus a little better, but the similarities are greater than the differences.
The Honor X5b and X5b Plus have the same MediaTek Helio G36 chipset, which is limited to LTE. The operating system is Android 14 with Honor’s MagicOS 8.0 interface. The display is 6.56 inches, based on LCD technology and also houses the selfie camera in a waterdrop notch, which has a clear resolution of 5 megapixels. The resolution of the display is also not too impressive at 720p. The refresh rate of 90 Hz is halfway acceptable.
There are four circular cutouts on the back, but there are only two cameras in them. The Honor X5b Plus has a 50 MP main camera and a 0.8 MP depth sensor. The non-Plus model has a main camera of only 13 MP, while the second sensor is identical. Circle number three houses the LED flash and circle number four is just a plastic cover.
Both Honor phones are the same size and have the same 5,200 mAh battery. The Honor X5b has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage and costs the equivalent of $80. The X5b Plus also has 4 GB of RAM, but increases the storage to 128 GB and costs 399 SAR, which is about $106.
