Apple iPhone SE (2025): New leak reveals display, camera and chipset
Apple is preparing to launch the iPhone SE in early 2025, another source has since confirmed. The rumors come just days after Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also announced that exact timeframe. However, the new leak added more details on the specs and features.
According to 9to5Mac sources, the Apple iPhone SE 4 will get a significant facelift on the front. Just like Gurman, there is talk of a design similar to the iPhone 14, including the notch and FaceID. It will also feature an Apple A18 chipset and inherit some cameras from last year’s iPhone 15.
The current Apple iPhone SE was launched in 2022 and is basically an iPhone 8 with a newer chipset. However, the Apple iPhone SE (2025) will be the first affordable Apple phone with 5G connectivity thanks to the new chip.
On the front, a 6.1-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,531 x 1,170 pixels is planned, which will have flat sides. Since Touch ID is no longer available, the only biometric authentication function remains Face ID. 3D facial recognition runs via a 12 MP selfie camera, which Apple places in the well-known notch. On the back, there will only be one camera, like on the previous iPhone SE. At least it is the 48 MP main camera from the iPhone 15 series.
Thanks to the A18 chip, the Apple iPhone SE (2025) should also be Apple Intelligence-capable. In addition, the AI functions should be available right out of the box, unlike the iPhone 16 series, which is still waiting for its software update. In Europe and China, the launch is also planned for next year.
Apple currently sells the iPhone SE (2022) with 64 GB storage for € 529. The Apple iPhone SE (2025) is expected to start at €559 or even €599.
