The Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro and a Pro+. Both are particularly robust and have high-quality curved displays. The Pro+ model is characterized by better camera hardware and a powerful silicon carbon anode battery.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro+
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro+ has a triple camera with an OmniVision Light Hunter 800 sensor at the top. The chip is already known from the Xiaomi 14 Civi. It is a 1/1.55-inch sensor (1.0 µm pixel) that has a dynamic range of 13.2 EV and advanced dual native ISO. It sits behind a fast lens with f/1.6 aperture and OIS.
But there is also a second 50 MP sensor behind a 60 mm lens (2.5x). This is great for portraits and the high-resolution sensor also enables a lossless 5x zoom. The lens of this camera has an f/2.0 aperture and can focus on close objects up to a distance of 50cm. An 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 120° FoV (f/2.2) completes the setup.
The main camera of the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ can record 4K videos at 30fps and 1080p at 60fps, as well as a slow motion mode in 1080p at 120fps. Finally, the selfie camera has a 20MP sensor (OV20B) with 1080p at 60fps video recording.
A 6.67-inch OLED display serves as the viewfinder. This is a 12-bit panel with 68.7 billion colors and 100% DCI-P3 coverage, as well as Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. It has a resolution of 1,220 x 2,712 pixels (446 ppi) and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The display has a peak brightness of 3,000 nits and uses 1,920 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.
The display may be curved, but it’s protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The back relies on Gorilla Glass 7i – the first Redmi phone with two layers of Gorilla Glass. The four corners have been reinforced against impacts and the insides are padded with a polymer that absorbs the energy of impacts.
TÜV SÜD rated the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5 stars in the drop test, which was carried out on a marble floor from a height of 1.8 m. An IP68 rating also guarantees a full 24 hours of protection in 2 meters of water. Most IP68 tests only take half an hour. The display can detect touches from wet hands, so you can easily fish the phone out of the pool and keep using it.
New silicon carbon anode battery
Xiaomi has also gone all out with the new silicon carbon anode battery with a massive capacity of 6,200 mAh. It is designed for 4 years of fast charging at 90 watts and can even survive charging in extremely cold conditions (-20 ° C). It is powered by the new Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset combined with 12 GB LPDDR4X RAM or 16 GB LPDDR5. Storage is also available in two variants: 256 GB UFS 2.2 and 512 GB UFS 3.1.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro+ launches in China today. The base model with 12/256 GB costs 1,900 CNY including a temporary discount of 5%. This translates to €245/$270/£205/₹22,500. There’s also a 12/512GB option for CNY2,100 and a 16/512GB model for CNY2,300.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro also features GG Victus 2 on the front, albeit without Gorilla Glass on the back. However, the internal padding is fully there, as is the waterproofing. As such, the regular Pro has undergone the same TÜV SÜD tests, surviving drops from 1.8m and spending a full day in two-meter-deep water.
The Twilight Purple colorway has a faux leather texture on the back and an interesting two-tone cross design. The Phantom Blue option also features the two-tone cross design, but with a smooth texture. There is also Mirror Porcelain White and Midnight Black, which match the Pro+ design.
The main camera of the Xiaomi Redmi 14 Pro is based on a 50 MP Sony LYT-600 sensor with 1/1.96 inches and 0.8 µm pixels. There is also an f/1.5 lens with OIS. Video recording reaches its maximum at 4K at 30 frames per second. However, there are 60 frames per second and 120 frames per second modes in 1080p. The Pro, however, has no telephoto lens and the ultra-wide-angle camera is reduced to an 8 MP 120 ° module (f/2.2). The third camera on the back is a 2 MP macro module. On the front there is the same 20 MP selfie camera.
The good news is that the display is the same as the Pro+. The 6.67-inch 1220p+ OLED panel also has a refresh rate of 120 Hz and up to 3,000 nits brightness (1,920 Hz PWM dimming). It has 12-bit colors with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. Both smartphones also have optical fingerprint sensors under their display.
The battery is a typical Li-Po cell (no silicon carbon here), but the 5,500mAh capacity is still pretty big. Charging power is halved to 45W, and the battery is designed to retain most of its capacity even after 4 years of use.
Powering it is a Dimensity 7300 Ultra chip with 8/12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128/256/512GB UFS 2.2 storage. Unlike the Pro+, however, the higher capacity options don’t use newer, faster chips. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro is available in China now, starting at CNY 1,400 for a base 8/128GB model. That’s €180/$200/£150/₹16,700. 8/256 GB costs 1,500 CNY, 12/256 GB costs 1,700 CNY and 12/512 GB costs 1,900 CNY.
