As the name suggests, Nothing Ear (open) are the first wireless open-ear earphones from the Nothing brand. They feature an on-ear design with wraparound ear hooks and the typical semi-transparent design in the Nothing look. They do not offer active noise cancellation. Instead, the focus during development was on all-day comfort.

Design has always been the focus of Nothing products. Accordingly, the Nothing Ear (open) have the now signature see-through look associated with the brand. The new headphones feature speakers that sit outside your ear and a three-point balance system with silicone ear hooks. Nothing has developed a new Sound Seal System with directional speakers to prevent sound leakage and improve privacy.

Each earbud weighs 8.1 grams and both the headphones and the case are dust and splash resistant to IP54. The sound is provided by 14.2 mm speakers with a titanium coating. Additionally, the Nothing Ear (open) can be paired with two devices simultaneously via Bluetooth 5.3. Each earbud also features two microphones, Clear Voice 3.0 technology, and pinch controls for media playback, volume control, and call management.

As with previous Nothing headphones, the Ear (open) is configured using the Nothing X app. You can tweak and share your EQ profiles, customize controls, and update firmware through the app. The headphones also support Find My Network and a low-latency mode for gaming. Finally, there are also built-in ChatGPT features when actively connected to a Nothing smartphone.

The Nothing Ear (open) are said to offer 8 hours of playback time with their 64 mAh batteries. The 635 mAh cell in the charging case increases the total playtime to 30 hours. Charging is limited to USB-C, there is no wireless option. Additionally, there is only one color option, white, priced at €149/$149/£129. Pre-orders at Nothing.tech start today, while open sale starts on October 1st.
