Huawei introduces TruSense system ahead of Watch GT 5 launch

Huawei unveiled the TruSense system at a major event in China. It’s a “groundbreaking” system that aims to set a new standard in health monitoring. The technology combines data from sensors for respiratory rate, SpO2 (blood oxygen level), body temperature, blood pressure and heart rate. This is nothing new for a Huawei wearable, but the company claims that the readings are more accurate and comprehensive and will be better used in the company’s ecosystem. The launch could take place on the Huawei Watch GT 5.

Official presenters on stage did not say which devices will be the first to launch with TruSense. However, rumors suggest that the Huawei Watch D2 with blood pressure measurement will launch next month to introduce the technology. A teaser has also just surfaced for the Huawei Watch GT 5, which is also expected to be one of the first smartwatches to feature TruSense.
Rico Zhang, president of Huawei’s Smart Wearable and Health product line, said the new system will, among other things, lead users to pursue a healthier lifestyle. The video also shows the new Health Glance feature. This measures over 10 health indicators in just 60 seconds to give a quick overview of your personal health status.
These include well-known parameters such as heart rate or ECG, but also lesser-known ones such as lung function and the risk of infection, sleep apnea and the risk of hyperglycemia.
