A new day, a new Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold leak is here. Or in this case, two. Firstly, Google’s second foldable smartphone has appeared in a German-language promo video. And secondly, there are new rumors about the dimensions. But first, the video, in which the next Fold appears with a larger main display than its predecessor, which should help with multitasking. The short clip also features Google’s Magic Editor, which allows you to change the background of images.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be thinner and lighter than the original Pixel Fold. This will of course be part of the advertising campaign. As will the fact that it can be opened completely flat 180 degrees. Strangely, the Pixel Fold could not boast the latter. There also seems to be a new hinge with a modified design on board. This is more reminiscent of the OnePlus Open than its predecessor. Google’s Gemini AI also appeared, as did the two color options named Obsidian (black) and Porcelain (white).

According to a second leak, the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold will measure 155.2 x 77.1 x 10.5mm when folded and 155.2 x 150.2 x 5.1mm when unfolded. This makes it slightly taller, much wider, and much thinner than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold6, its main competitor. However, it doesn’t come close to the current record holder, the Honor Magic V3. When folded, the V3 is just 9.3mm thin.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold will reportedly weigh 257g. That would be significantly more than the Magic V3 (226g), the Galaxy Z Fold6 (239g), and the OnePlus Open (239g). However, it’s still much lighter than its predecessor, which weighed a whopping 283g. The main display should be slightly smaller compared to the vivo X Fold3 Pro and reach a peak brightness of up to 2,700 nits. The same applies to the external display.

In addition to 256 or 512 GB of storage, you also get 16 GB of RAM and a 4,650 mAh battery. The battery would actually be smaller than the 4,821 mAh cell in the Pixel Fold. But since the displays are growing at the same time, it will be interesting to see how long the battery will last. Like the rest of the Pixel 9 series, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will come with the Tensor G4 chipset and Android 14. On August 13th, together with the Pixel Watch 3 and the Pixel Buds Pro 2. The update to Android 15 will be released within a few weeks of the release.
