Google Pixel 9 Pro XL: Hands-on video and all prices
The upcoming Google Pixel 9 series, or more precisely the top model Pixel 9 Pro XL, has appeared in two new hands-on videos on TikTok. A second leak has also revealed the prices of the entire series up to the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. First, the videos: The first compares the 9 Pro XL with the smallest member of the series, the Pixel 9.
The second video shows us the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL next to the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. It quickly becomes clear that despite the addition of “XL”, it is still a few millimeters short of the most expensive Samsung smartphone.
Google will unveil the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold on August 13th at a surprise event that takes place two months earlier than usual. We assumed that the company may have chosen to do this to prevent leaks, but it obviously doesn’t work at all.
The Pixel 9 will be the successor to the Pixel 8, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL will succeed the Pixel 8 Pro. The Pixel 9 Pro combines the hardware of the XL with the dimensions of the Pixel 9. Unsurprisingly, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will succeed the original Google Pixel Fold. This raises the question of whether there will even be a successor to the Pixel 8a.
Google Pixel 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold: Prices
The prices for all new Pixel smartphones in France were leaked yesterday. The Pixel 9 is expected to be available in Obsidian (black), Porcelain (white), Cosmo (pink) and Mojito (green) and will cost €899 with 128 GB storage. 256 GB is available for €999. The Pixel 9 Pro starts at €1,099 with 128 GB storage and goes up to €1,199 (256 GB) and €1,329 with 512 GB. The top version is only available in Obsidian and Hazelnut, while the other two are also said to be available in Porcelain and Pink.
The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL is available with 128 GB storage from €1,199. You pay €1,299 for 256 GB, €1,429 for 512 GB and €1,689 for 1 TB. The latter version will only be available in obsidian, the 128 GB and 512 GB models will also be available in porcelain and hazelnut, and the 256 GB variant is the only one available in pink. Whatever the reason. After all, the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be the successor to the original Pixel Fold from last year. This model costs €1,899 with 256 GB storage and €2,029 with 512 GB. It will only be available in obsidian and porcelain.
As with all price leaks in euros, please note that different VAT rates can lead to small deviations within the EU. Prices are therefore rising, just like at Samsung’s big Unpacked event on Wednesday and the new Galaxy Z Fold6, Z Flip6, Galaxy Watch7 and the new Watch Ultra.
