Honor Magic Vs3 is here: 0.6 mm thicker but cheaper than Magic V3
In addition to the Magic V3, now the thinnest foldable in the world, Honor also announced the Magic Vs3 today. And although this model is thicker, it is also incredibly thin – up to 9.8 mm when folded in the Velvet Black color and 4.65 mm when unfolded. That is 0.1 mm less than the Magic V2, the previous record holder. The Vs3 ranks right behind it as the second thinnest foldable smartphone in the world.
Despite the cheaper price, the Honor Magic Vs3 is by no means underpowered. It is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset together with 12 or 16 GB RAM. The 7.92-inch main display has an almost square aspect ratio of 9.78:9 and a resolution of 2,344 x 2,156 pixels. The 6.43-inch cover display, on the other hand, delivers 20:9 with a resolution of 1,060 x 2,376 pixels. Both panels also have 3,840 Hz PWM dimming and an eye protection mode with AI defocus.
The Honor Magic Vs3 runs on Android 14 and MagicOS 8. It has a 50 megapixel main camera, a 40 megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and an 8 megapixel periscope telephoto lens for five times optical zoom. For selfies, there are two identical 16 MP front cameras on each display. The power supply is provided by a 5,000 mAh battery with 66 watts of wired and 50 watts of wireless charging. The weight is 229 g (Velvet Black) or 231 g (other versions).
There are three RAM/storage combinations: 12/256 GB for 6,999 CNY (884 €/965 $), 12/512 GB for 7,699 CNY (972 €/1,060 $) and 16 GB/1 TB for 8,699 CNY (1,099 €/1,200 $). In addition to the aforementioned Velvet Black, there is also Qilian Snow and Tundra Green. Currently, the Honor Magic Vs3 is only available in China, just like its predecessors. Hopefully it will be launched internationally at some point in the future.
