The nubia Red Magic 9S Pro and 9S Pro+ with a reinforced chipset and improved cooling are here. The chipset is the so-called Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version, also known from Samsung as SD 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy. The main CPU core runs at 3.4 GHz and the GPU at 1 GHz. This allowed the 9S Pro to set a new AnTuTu record for Android devices of 2,369,542 points.

The revised ICE 13.5 cooling system has a large vapor chamber (10,182 mm²) and a new cooling gel that reduces thermal resistance. In combination with an active fan with 22,000 rpm, the system can reduce the chipset temperature by up to 19.5 degrees compared to 18 degrees with the original ICE 13 system. The latter cools the original Red Magic 9 Pro and 9 Pro+.

The batteries remain the same – a large 6,500 mAh battery with 80 watts of charging in the 9S Pro and a smaller 5,500 mAh battery with 165 watts of charging in the Pro+. Even the 80 watt version is quite fast – a full charge takes just 35 minutes. The Plus model, on the other hand, reaches 100% in just 16 minutes. The gaming smartphones also have the option of using an external power supply directly instead of the battery. This generates less heat and reduces battery wear. In terms of dimensions, the two new Nubias remain the same as the previous Pro models – they are also 8.9 mm thick and weigh 229 g.

The flat 6.8 inch OLED displays (BOE Q9+) are completely rectangular, there are no rounded corners. Below is the 16 megapixel under-display front camera to avoid any distraction from gaming. The display has a resolution of 1,116 x 2,480 pixels and runs at 120 Hz. A touch sampling rate of up to 2,000 Hz is possible for control, and there are also two 520 Hz shoulder buttons with a new backlight design. Connectivity includes fast Wi-Fi 7 and USB-C 3.2, as well as a 3.5 mm jack for wired headphones.

The 50 megapixel main camera of the Nubia Red Magic 9S Pro and Pro+ is based on a 1/1.57 inch Samsung GN5 sensor with OIS. There is also a 50 megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera (JN1). The new Nubias start with the updated Red Magic 9.5 operating system, which also includes AI functions. These include Smart Navigator with real-time recommendations, AI Trigger, image magnification, wallpaper generation, a typing assistant, summaries, search, etc.

It is priced at CNY 7,000.

Aside from this Halo version, there are variants in Dark Knight, White Knight and the transparent Silver Deuterium/Dark Knight. The two 9S Pro models will launch in China on July 9. The base model starts at 4,800 CNY (610 €/660 $/55,000 ₹).
