Last year, ZTE launched the nubia Pad 3D with a glasses-free 3D display. Now the successor nubia Pad 3D II is out, “world’s first 5G+AI eyewear free 3D tablet”. The previous model had a Snapdragon 888 chipset and no cellular connection. In addition, the AI is intended to solve the problem of the lack of 3D content – the previous model also had a 2D to 3D converter, but the new Neovision 3D Anytime is better. It works for images, videos including streaming media and even games.

The 12.1 large IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels (16:10) and a refresh rate of 144 Hz has liquid crystal lenses. nubia promises 80% higher 3D resolution and a doubling of brightness in 3D mode. The display offers a viewing angle of 86 degrees, allowing multiple people to see the 3D effect at the same time. Plus, it works in both landscape and portrait orientation.

The nubia Pad 3D II can convert any 2D video to 3D – even one streamed from a phone. For example, if you have a ZTE phone, you can stream an app wirelessly to the tablet and interact with it in 3D. You can also use Miracast to transfer images to the tablet. And you can also drag and drop a 3D model from the notebook to the tablet and preview it there.

For creating your own 3D photos and images, there is a 13 megapixel dual camera on the back and an 8 megapixel dual camera on the front. And with the new AI engine, it’s easier to get a good shot as the optimal distance to the subject is now 2.5 times greater.

The tablet has four DTS:X Ultra-capable speakers that create a 3D soundscape to match the 3D images. These are 1 watt full-frequency speakers, and there are also two noise-cancelling microphones.

The nubia Pad 3D II requires a lot of computing power to calculate the content. This is where last year’s fastest chip comes into play, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The power is provided by a 10,000 mAh battery that charges with 66 watts. The release date and price are not yet known.
