vivo X Fold 3 gets new design and Pro version

According to a new rumor, vivo will launch not one, but two new foldables by the end of the first quarter of 2024. Tipster Digital Chat Station assumes that the Chinese will also bring an X Fold 3 Pro in addition to the X Fold 3. Both devices have already been certified by Chinese authorities.

According to the tip, the two vivo X Fold 3 models will bring several improvements over its predecessor, the X Fold 2. These include a higher display resolution, a larger battery, 50 megapixel sensors for all cameras and a lighter housing.
Offering a more powerful top model of a smartphone actually occurs in every model series. In the world of foldable smartphones, this is still pretty rare. DCS believes the vivo X Fold 3 Pro will have a periscope lens for the telephoto camera, 50-watt wireless charging, and an under-display fingerprint sensor.
However, the latter two functions are not new. They were part of both the X Fold and the X Fold 2. It is therefore possible that the vivo X Fold 3 Pro will be the befitting successor and the normal X Fold 3 with less features at a cheaper price will be the new Lite model. By the way, Samsung is reportedly planning something similar with a Galaxy Z Fold6 Lite.
On the one hand, it is good for customers to have different options. On the other hand, it may well be that we won’t get anything out of it if vivo sells another generation of foldables only in China.
