The Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+ are now officially equipped with telephoto lenses – a first for the Chinese number series. The duo was announced in India and each brings a luxurious version that was developed together with the Swiss watch manufacturer Ollivier Saveo. The 12 Pro has a classic 2x optical zoom for portraits. The 12 Pro+, on the other hand, is the company’s first smartphone with a periscope zoom lens.

Realme 12 Pro

The Realme 12 Pro has a 6.7-inch OLED display with curved sides. It supports a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a touch sampling rate of up to 240 Hz and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space. The chipset is a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 with a 2.2GHz CPU and an Adreno 710 GPU. The Realme 12 Pro adopts the 11 Pro’s 5,000mAh battery and supports 67W SuperVOOC charging. According to the official figures, it achieves 50% charge in 19 minutes and a full charge in 48 minutes.

The 50 megapixel main camera has OIS and a 1/2-inch Sony IMX882 sensor. The 2x telephoto camera has a resolution of 32 megapixels on a Sony IMX709 sensor with a size of 1/2.74 inches. There is also an 8 megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 16 megapixel selfie camera. The phone ships with Android 14 and Realme UI 5.0. Both color variants, Submariner Blue and Navigator Beige, have a vegan leather back.

The model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage costs INR 25,999 (€290/$310), while the 8/256GB variant costs INR 26,999 (€300/$325).

Realme 12 Pro+

The Plus version has the same 6.7-inch OLED display with a peak brightness of 950 nits and a 5,000 mAh battery that charges at 67 watts. Technically speaking, this is a step down from the 100 watts of the previous model. However, the Realme 12 Pro+ comes with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset coupled with 8 or 12GB of RAM and 128 or 256GB of storage.

The 12 Pro+’s 50-megapixel main camera with a Sony IMX890 sensor is the same as the ones on the Realme GT3 and GT5. But it has a larger aperture of f/1.8. Then there’s the 64-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom (71mm equivalent), f/2.6 aperture, OIS and a 1/2-inch OV64B sensor from OmniVision. It shares the 8 megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with the regular 12 Pro. Realme is upgrading the selfie camera to a 32 megapixel sensor from Sony.

Prices

The Realme 12 Pro+ also ships with Android 14 and Realme UI 5.0 and is available in Submariner Blue and Navigator Beige colors. Customers in India will also get an exclusive variant called Explorer Red.
