Realme GT5 with 240 watt charging and 24 GB of RAM unveiled

The Realme GT5 was officially unveiled today in several versions. The top model charges with 240 watts, filling up the 4,600 mAh battery to 20% capacity after just 80 seconds of recharging. The 150 watt version has a larger 5,240 mAh battery. Here you can recharge to 50% capacity in just 7 minutes. Regardless of the version, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset sits at the helm, which a 9-layer cooling system with a vapor chamber measuring 20,827mm² keeps cool.

The display is a flat 6.74-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1240×2772 pixels (20:9). The display reproduces colors in 10-bit and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space. The peak brightness is 1,400 nits. You also get high-frequency PWM dimming at 2,160 Hz and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. In addition to the Adreno GPU, the Realme smartphone also has the in-house X7 display chip. The X7 inserts additional frames into games via interpolation to increase the FPS rate.

On the back of the Realme GT5 is a 50-megapixel main camera based on a 1/1.56-inch Sony IMX890 sensor. The accompanying 24 mm lens has an f/1.9 aperture and OIS. In addition, Realme installs a 112-degree ultra-wide camera with 8 megapixels and a 2-megapixel macro camera. Next to it is the LED light, which frames a Snapdragon logo. It can light up in 26 different colors and has 5 levels of brightness. Finally, there’s a 16-megapixel selfie camera with a 16-megapixel S5K3P9 sensor.

The GT5 accepts two 5G SIM cards and is also equipped with four WLAN antennas with Wi-Fi 7 support. The Bluetooth standard is also up to date with version 5.3. There are also aptX HD, LHDC, LDAC and LC3 audio codecs, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio and Dolby certifications. On the other hand, you have to do without a 3.5 mm headphone jack. An under-display fingerprint sensor with a response time of just 0.25 seconds and 3-band GPS (L1+L2+L5) complete the equipment list.
