Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro appears in first images
Asus has already confirmed that the ROG Phone 8 series will launch in China on January 16th. The first official teaser came out at the beginning of last month and shortly before Christmas the first renderings appeared, which showed the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro in addition to the base model. Today we have the next batch of leaked renders, showing the Pro variant from various angles. The design of the Asus smartphone will be almost identical to the normal model except for a few different LEDs on the back.
The Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro features a flat display with a central cutout for the selfie camera, which is expected to have a 32-megapixel sensor. The power button and volume buttons are located on the right side of the gaming smartphone. There are also two USB-C ports on the left and on the bottom. And the phone also has a 3.5mm headphone jack.
According to previous rumors and leaks, the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro will feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 165Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. The panel also supports HDR10 content and LTPO technology. The latter allows very fine gradations in the update rate of down to 1 Hz, which reduces power consumption. Unsurprisingly, the fastest chipset currently on the market, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 from Qualcomm, takes over the drive. There is also up to 24 GB of RAM, which is also at the top end of the performance scale.
Unfortunately, there is still no technical data for the main cameras. The battery, on the other hand, is expected to have a capacity of 5,500 mAh and charge with 65 watts. The ROG Phone 8 Pro is also said to be protected against dust and waterproof according to the IP68 protection class.
