Huawei nova 12 with 6.7 inches and 60 MP selfie camera is here
Huawei today announced the nova 12 Ultra and nova 12 Pro with variable aperture cameras and satellite connectivity. But the Chinese brand also presented the cheaper models nova 12 and nova 12 Lite.
The Huawei nova 12 has a 6.7-inch OLED display with 120 Hz and a resolution of 2,412 x 1,084 pixels. The fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication is located under the screen and the 60 megapixel ultrawide selfie camera (100 degree field of view) is in the top center. The panel supports 1 billion colors and covers the DCI-P3 color space. On the back there is an elliptical camera island with an LED flash and a laser focus sensor. In addition to the 50 megapixel primary camera with a RYYB color filter array, there is also another ultra-wide camera with a resolution of 8 megapixels and a field of view of 112 degrees.
The Huawei nova 12 runs HarmonyOS 4 out of the box and has two storage options – 256GB and 512GB. Huawei does not mention the processor on its website, but it is supposedly the Kirin 830 chipset. Other highlights include a 4,600 mAh battery with 100 watt charging power, USB-C and NFC. It also features “Bionic breathing, liquid cooling, pulsating heat conduction” (machine translated from Chinese). This should increase the cooling performance by a factor of 60.
The Huawei nova 12 Lite has a slightly slimmer profile (6.88 mm vs. 6.98 mm) and is slightly lighter (168 g vs. 191 g). At 4,500 mAh, the battery stores 100 mAh less and the charging processes are also a little slower at 66 instead of 100 watts. A Snapdragon 778G chipset powers the Huawei smartphone and a 50 megapixel main camera without an RYYB color filter handles the camera department.

The Huawei nova 12 and nova 12 Lite are available in the same colors and storage options. The 256 and 512 GB versions of the nova 12 are priced at CNY 2,999 (€380/$420/INR 34,915) and 3,399 CNY (€430/$475/INR 39,570), respectively: The 256 and 512 GB models of the nova 12 Lite go for 2,499 CNY (320 € / 350 $ / 29,095 INR) and 2,799 CNY (355 € / 390 $ / 32,585 INR). In China you can already pre-order via VMall, official sales start on January 5th.
