Apple has begun notifying Apple Cash users about an upcoming fee increase for the instant money transfer feature. Starting February 18, 2026, instant money transfers will cost 1.7 percent of the transaction amount, with a minimum fee of $0.25 and a maximum fee of $25.

With Apple Cash Instant Transfer, you can transfer money from your Cash account to your bank account without any waiting time. The fee is currently 1.5 percent of the transaction amount, with a minimum fee of $0.25 and a maximum fee of $15.

Apple Cash instant transfer: $17 in fees for every $1,000

For example, using instant transfer to deposit $1,000 from Apple Cash to a bank account currently requires a fee of $15, which will increase to $17 after February 18.

An ACH transfer, which takes one to three working days, remains free of charge and is available to Cash users at all times.

To transfer money to a bank account, select the Cash card in the Wallet app. To exit, tap the “More” button with the three dots and then select the “Transfer to bank” option.

However, there remains a major drawback for most users: Apple Cash is still limited to the US. It can be used to send and receive money directly to and from friends and contacts within the Messages app – as an alternative to services like Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal.
