Oppo Find X9 Ultra: Camera comparison with the Find X9s Pro

While some companies like to maintain a large gap between their ultra and non-ultra devices, Oppo is going the opposite way – the upcoming Oppo Find X9s Pro will have cameras that can compete with those of the Oppo Find X9 Ultra.

Both the Find X9 Ultra and the Find X9s Pro will be unveiled in China on April 21st. The Ultra, with its 6.82-inch display, will be among the largest models in the series, while the X9s Pro is expected to be a more compact flagship with a 6.32-inch display – and will launch with nearly the same battery capacity as the Ultra (7,000 mAh).

The crucial point is that both Oppo phones feature two 200MP sensors – one in the main camera and one in the telephoto camera – with Hasselblad optimization. Oppo manager Zhuo Shijie He shared photos taken with the respective cameras, comparing the two smartphones. The Oppo Find X9 Ultra is on the left, the Find X9s Pro on the right. In the bottom image, he only shared photos of the X9s Pro.

Zhuo highlights how hair and fabrics are rendered in the photos – this can be problematic for digital cameras, as noise reduction often blurs them. Both smartphones preserve the details and make the colors appear natural, according to Zhuo.
The color technology of Hasselblad’s main and telephoto cameras has reportedly been optimized to offer consistent color reproduction. This allows users to shoot clips at different focal lengths and seamlessly merge them without having to manually adjust the color. Or so the promise goes.
Both smartphones also feature 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle cameras, which, in combination with the in-sensor zoom of the other two cameras, enable five zoom levels: 0.6x, 1x, 2x, 2.8x, and 5.6x. All three cameras are capable of recording 8K video in Hasselblad quality.
The Oppo Find X9 Ultra will be unveiled worldwide on April 21st.
Oppo has also confirmed that the Find X9 Ultra will be launched not only in China but also worldwide. The launch date of April 21st remains unchanged, but while the Ultra will also launch in select international markets on that day, the Find X9s Pro is expected to remain exclusive to China.

Rumours suggest that the Oppo Find X9 Ultra will have a 6.82-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 144 Hz, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, a 7,050 mAh battery and two 200MP cameras.
Oppo is expected to release further details and initial impressions before the launch.
