Xiaomi 17 Ultra: First camera data leaked

Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi 17 series last month, consisting of three smartphones: the Xiaomi 17, the 17 Pro, and the Pro Max. The launch of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected in the coming months, and while we await the first official information, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed the first camera details for the Ultra model.

According to DCS, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will have a total of four cameras: one 200 MP camera and three 50 MP cameras. The main camera will have a very high dynamic range, while the periscope telephoto lens will feature new optical technology. The rest of the camera setup will therefore consist of an ultra-wide-angle lens and a regular telephoto lens. Unless he also counts the front camera, which means there shouldn’t be a regular telephoto lens.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra with new camera technology?
DCS claims that the camera system of the next Ultra model will feature huge improvements compared to the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, as the main and periscope cameras have been significantly improved. The 15 Ultra still had two telephoto cameras. However, if the new periscope camera is indeed “hugely” improved, only a single telephoto lens may be necessary. In the past, Xiaomi, for example, has experimented with liquid lenses, which can change the camera’s focal length. A traditional optical zoom is also conceivable, as with the Sony Xperia 1 VII.
Furthermore, DCS stated that there will be two versions of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. Both will feature camera setups with the same sensor and lens technologies, but the higher-end model will be equipped with some revolutionary imaging features.
