Oppo A6 Max with 7,000 mAh battery unveiled in China
Since smartphone manufacturers began focusing more heavily on the new silicon-carbon battery technology a few months ago, new record values have been reported almost weekly. Si/C batteries enable higher energy density, and the latest example is the Oppo A6 Max, which was unveiled in China today with a 7,000 mAh battery.
Apart from the battery, the Oppo A6 Max features a large 6.8-inch OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. The panel works even with wet hands and is protected by the company’s own Crystal Shield Glass.
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset accesses 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The rear camera system consists of a 50 MP main camera and an additional 2 MP depth sensor, while the selfie camera has a resolution of 32 MP.
Oppo A6 Max with 80-watt charging
Charging the 7,000 mAh battery doesn’t take that long thanks to Oppo’s SuperVOOC 80-watt fast charging. It takes just 24 minutes to charge to 50%.
Another feature of the A6 Max is its IP69 dust and water resistance certification. It also has SGS certification for operation in high-temperature environments.
The Oppo A6 Max is already available in China for 1,599 CNY (192 euros/220 US dollars). However, it is unclear whether Oppo will sell it in other countries, even if it is rebranded. The available colors are white and blue, with the former having a glass back and the latter made of fiberglass.
