RedMagic Tablet 3 Pro with 165Hz display and SD 8 Elite with fan is here
RedMagic is currently teasing its latest gaming tablet and apparently has no intention of making any compromises. The RedMagic Tablet 3 Pro features a smaller form factor but will have the same powerful hardware as the RedMagic 10S Pro. It will launch at midnight in China and will be available worldwide from July 1st. The tablet is sold internationally under the name RedMagic Astra.
The RedMagic Tablet 3 Pro features a 9.06-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 165 Hz. The maximum brightness is 1,600 nits, and the full-screen brightness reaches 1,100 nits. It is controlled via 5,280 Hz high-frequency PWM. The tablet can take full advantage of the high refresh rate – Minecraft runs at 165 fps, League of Legends: Wild Rift reaches 144 Hz, while Call of Duty: Mobile, PUBG Mobile, and Genshin Impact reach 120 fps.
RedMagic doesn’t just offer Android games: It comes with a pre-installed PC emulator that can run AAA PC titles like Tomb Raider at 60 fps. The company also offers various gaming accessories, from the Shadow Blade Gamepad 3 to the IceBlade Magnetic Keyboard.
The Redmagic Tablet 3 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, paired with 12, 16 or 24 GB LPDDR5T-RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB UFS 4.1 Pro storage. It is not clear whether this is the overclocked version of the chip, since there are no frequencies on the product page. However, the tablet has the Redcore R3 Pro-Chip on board, the game graphics to 2K with up to 120 fps.
The glass panel on the back reveals the ICE-X cooling system with liquid metal, a large vapor chamber, and a fan. The fan features RGB lighting and lowers the chipset temperature of the RedMagic Tablet 3 Pro by up to 8°C – at least according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
The RedMagic Tablet 3 Pro features an 8,200 mAh battery that promises up to 5.5 hours of gaming on a single charge (e.g., with Honkai: Star Rail). With an 80-watt charger, the battery charges from empty to 50% in 20 minutes. The USB port is located on the side to avoid cables getting in the way while gaming and charging. The USB 3.2 Gen 2 port can drive external displays at up to 8K at 60 Hz. By reducing the resolution to 4K, refresh rates of up to 144 Hz are possible.
The tablet is CNC-machined from aerospace-grade aluminum. The 9.06-inch display in 16:10 format is surrounded by a 4.9 mm wide bezel. The back is made of aluminum, except for the glass panel that allows a view of the fan.
RedMagic Tablet 3 Pro Pricing
The RedMagic Tablet 3 Pro goes on sale in China tomorrow, but will go on sale online at midnight. The base model with 12/256 GB costs CNY 4,000 (€485/$555), the mid-range version with 16/512 GB costs CNY 4,700 (€569/$655), and the top-of-the-line 24 GB/1 TB model costs CNY 6,000 (€727/$835). All models include a charger.

There are also various gaming accessories. The RedMagic Shadow Blade Gamepad 3 features Hall-effect joysticks, a linear motor, and a 6-axis gyroscope. It is compatible with the Tablet 3 Pro, but can also be used with the Nintendo Switch and gaming tablets under 9 inches. The Gamepad 3 costs 600 CNY (€73/$85).
The RedMagic IceBlade magnetic keyboard has a CNC-machined aluminum alloy housing and a very high polling rate of 8,000 Hz for a response time of 0.1 ms. It costs 1,000 CNY (€121/$140).
