OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra and Racing Edition introduced
The standard Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro have been on the smartphone market for almost half a year. Now the company is expanding the series with two additional models: the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra and Ace 5 Racing. The new smartphones differ fundamentally in terms of features and design, but retain the core of the product line: top performance at flagship-killer prices.
OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra
The OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra is the technically most powerful OnePlus smartphone with a MediaTek processor – it features a Dimensity 9400+ chipset. There’s also a 6.83-inch OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a resolution slightly higher than Full HD+. The chipset is paired with 12 GB or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The storage combinations are available in five different versions to cover a wide price range.
The OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra has a modest camera setup: a 50 MP main camera with an f/1.8 lens, AF and OIS, paired with an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 112-degree field of view. The front camera is a simple 16 MP camera behind a punch-hole.
The smartphone has a dedicated side button that can be programmed as quick access to certain apps – alarm, flashlight, night mode, translator or AI.
OnePlus has equipped the Ultra with a G1 connectivity chip, which improves Wi-Fi speed and reliability compared to competing products. It also features a multi-layer cooling architecture with a 7,300 mm² vapor chamber.
The OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra’s battery has a capacity of 6,700 mAh. It supports 100 W wired charging and bypass charging. Just 10 minutes on the charger is enough for 3 hours of gaming, while 39 minutes charges the battery from 0 to 100%.
The OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra will launch in China with Oppo’s ColorOS 15 and its own AI assistant, which is only available in China. The colors are blue, black, and titanium silver. The starting price is 2,499 CNY (306 €/361 $) with 12/256 GB. The most expensive version offers 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage and costs 3,799 CNY (466 €/527 $).
OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra
The OnePlus Ace 5 Racing is equipped with a Dimensity 9400e chipset. It offers the same RAM and memory options as the ultra, but without the 1 TB variant. The cameras on the back now only dissolve with 50 MP, the main sensor only dissolves with 2 MP. The selfie camera continues to dissolve with 16 MP.
The ACE 5 racing is based on a 6.77-inch amoled panel with Full HD+resolution and a refresh frequency of up to 120 Hz. G1 connectivity chip, but it built up a sophisticated cooling solution (if not as good as that of the Ultra), including a 7,000 mm² Vapor Chamber.
The ACE 5 racing exceeds the ultra in the battery capacity-it has the largest battery in a OnePlus cell phone with a capacity of 7,100 mah. It loads with” only “80 watts and has Bypass charging function. It runs with Coloros 15 and some AI functions, such as 4K-upscaling in videos and the deletion of objects in photos.
The OnePlus Ace 5 Racing is available in white, black, and mint green. The starting price is 1,799 CNY (220 €/250 $) for 12/256 GB. An international launch has not yet been announced.
