Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Selfie camera from the Galaxy S23
Samsung has been using the same 12MP sensor for the front cameras since the Galaxy S23 series and will apparently continue to do so. According to several new leaks, this also applies to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Selfies will continue to be taken with the S5K3LU sensor, also known as ISOCELL 3LU. The main camera is said to be Samsung’s own 200 MP wide-angle camera, which is also available in the Galaxy S25 Ultra and in the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is making its rounds.
Samsung has been known for years for not changing too much from generation to generation. This tactic also affects the camera setups of the Galaxy smartphones. With its S5K3LU sensor, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge follows the last three Galaxy S generations, from the Galaxy S23 from 2023 to the Galaxy S25 Ultra from last February.
The sensor itself is 1/3.2 inch in size with a pixel size of 1.12 μm. It offers dual pixel AF, dual pixel RGB patterns and video recording at 4K at 60 frames per second and 1080p at 120 fps.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge with One UI 8
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset. Both the prices and the launch date appeared in another leak last week. The operating system will probably be One UI 8 based on Android 16. However, so far Samsung seems to only want to start in two markets.
